CRAFT AND CHAT

CRAFT AND CHAT

Our Craft and Chat Group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month, 2-4pm, in the Emmanuel Church building.  It is a small informal group where you can come along and join in the craft activity of the day (all resources provided) or you can bring your own project.  It doesn’t matter if you’re not ‘crafty’ you can just come along and enjoy the company, chat, and a piece of cake with a cup of tea.

We have indulged in a wide range of crafts, some requiring a bit more concentration than others (that’s where the chat bit is sometimes incorrect as the silence is deafening as everyone concentrates!).

There is a range of skills and experiences represented by the ‘regulars’, and we have been able to support each other over the challenges faced when ‘running out of wool’ to complete a garment, or what to do with something they have been given, or ‘where might I buy?’.

We have been visited by representatives of the RUH Forever Friends Team, telling us about some of the projects they undertake and we have been rewarded by making and donating resources for their ‘Wedding Boxes’ (for patients on end-of-life care), incubator covers and quilts for the New-born Intensive Care Unit and ‘fiddle blankets’ for patients with dementia.
